The final days...
This was quit a learning experience for me, that was the point right? Not growing up in the digital world this opened up many new avenues for me to explore..podcasting, photo sharing, and the zoho writer, some of my favorites. Being able to download books, music etc. from the library and take that with you on trips, for research etc...how wonderful. I will try that for sure when I am taking my next trip with a long car drive or long layover in the airport...I can be entertained and learn at the same time!!! Web 2.0 was at times a challenge and I thought "why would I need to know this or care" but overall I learned a lot and had a great time doing it. If I had another opporutunity for something like this "count me in"!
Digital Media Overdrive
This is an excerpt from the book 10-Minute Stress Manager
Emmett E. Miller, M.D., the renowned holistic physician and author, brings you a truly effective stress-management audio program.
Used by Gold Medalist/decathlete Dan O'Brien, and many other Olympic athletes, this audio features six 10-minute meditations to help bring you peace of mind, body, and soul.
When you're stressed out, just pop this into your player, and you'll be amazed by the beneficial results.
I didn't download the title but went thru the process and am excited to try it at home when I have a chance...great for trips and long layovers in the airport!

Pod cast
I can see how this would be great for libraries, some of the programs and information could be obtained by patrons at any time. This seemed very easy and a lot of libraries I looked at had a lot of information available. This was time intensive but I'm sure would get better the more familiar I became.
You tube to be or not tube be
This was my first experience with YOU TUBE and it was fasinating all the things I could find (some I really wish I hadn't). I even managed to find a short video of my granddaughters, one as a narrator for "the three little piggies" opera and the other was up to bat and got a hit at her softball game.

Web 2.0 awards
WOW, there sure are a lot of categories!!! I didn' t take the time to look at all (since some did not pique my curosity) but since I have been doing a lot of traveling lately that's the category I chose. From what I could see tfrom Farecast...it was pretty much thame as Traevlocity, expedia, etc. there are only so many airlines out there and only so many fares.....and none of them good $$. I also looked at the videos....YouTube won hands down. If patrons wanted to compare travel rates, they could do this from Farecast but with airlines guaranteeing lowest fares there would be no benefit to this site other than comparing the flights and then going to the individual websites to book. I dont' know how this application would be used in library other than patrons using it.....but they were fun to explore!!!!
Zoho better than Yoo Hoo??
Because of the atmospheric flux today I am feeling a bit "under the weather"...but will share my feelings of the zoo hoo (ooops zoho) writer. If only my brother and I had known in march that this word processing application was out there...i could have submitted my fathers obituary to the funeral director this way instead of using the Winnie the Pooh software stationery my granddaughter had installed on my mother's computer!!

One of my favorite poems my Mom used to recite
ANNABELLE LEE
Author: Edgar Allan Poe
It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of Annabel Lee; And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea; But we loved with a love that was more than love - I and my Annabel Lee; With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven Coveted her and me. And this was the reason that, long ago, In this kingdom by the sea, A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling My beautiful Annabel Lee; So that her highborn kinsman came And bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulcher In this kingdom by the sea. The angels, not half so happy in heaven, Went envying her and me Yes! that was the reason (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea) That the wind came out of the cloud by night, Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love was stronger by far than the love Of those who were older than we Of many far wiser than we And neither the angels in heaven above, Nor the demons down under the sea, Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee. For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride, In the sepulcher there by the sea, In her tomb by the sounding sea.
